Durham City Colts
TRAINING
Our training nights are Tuesday and Thursday.
Touch
rugby every Tuesday at 7.00pm during June.
Full
pre season starts on 6/7/10
- training starts prompt at 7pm so that means turn up for 6:45pm.
Always report to the changing room; we encourage all of the players
to shower after training and games and TO USE THE CLUBHOUSE after
all of these sessions.
Please
note that the first league fixture is at the beginning of September
so there is no ‘easing-in period’. The hard work on fitness is
an INDIVIDUAL responsibility.
The
coaching team will make a start on developing patterns of play
and assisting with individual skills.
Everyone
should wear appropriate clothing for training and games. If it
is wet and cold make sure you have clothing to keep you warm and
as dry as possible.
Correct
rugby studs should be fitted to boots worn during games and mouth/gum
guards should be worn all of the time even if it is non-contact
training.

We expect players to wear Navy blue rugby shorts and club socks
(socks are available for sale in the clubhouse)

We
will supply shirts, kindly sponsored by Durham City Smiles.

We
understand that not everyone will make all training sessions or
games however I need you to let me know if you are not coming
and why. A text or Email will suffice.
Also if you intend travelling direct to games you must let me
know. We prefer as many as possible to travel from City as we
sometimes have issues with transport and need help giving players
lifts.

If you have an injury you must let us know, we have access to
a Physiotherapist at the club by appointment every Tuesday and
Thursday training nights.

The league we are playing in works by all teams playing each other
once. When all of these games are completed, if there are enough
remaining game days, the league is split into two parts and we
play the teams in our half to decide the league winners.
Most of our home games kick off between 12:00 and 1pm depending
upon pitch availability. Away games are at the discretion of the
opponents however usually between 11am and 1:30pm.

The fixtures set as County Cup days are dependent upon us progressing
in the competition.
Katie Tucker will be collecting match fees from all players and
also all players MUST BE REGISTERED to play for the club and be
a member of the club. Katie will organize all of this at the start
of the season.
If
you have any questions speak to me, or one of the coaches, that
includes problems with your game that you would like additional
coaching for. Coaching team Paul Baty, Mick Woodley and Tom Searle.
“
I would like to purchase some training/match day kit for all players
however we need to raise sponsorship to allow us to do this or
charge each player the cost of their kit. If anyone knows of someone
who may be willing to sponsor us, let me know.
Thanks. Look forward to seeing you at some point over the summer.
